Application Review: Rotational Molding
Applicable Industries:
Aerospace, Toy Manufacturing, Medical, Sports Equipment, Automotive, Computer &
Consumer Products
Procedure:
Rotational molding is a process utilizing a predetermined amount of plastic in
powder form, placed in a mold cavity to produce a part. The part is produced by
heating, cooling and removing the part and recharging the mold. The versatility
of rotational molding allows for parts in a variety of shapes and sizes that are
partially or totally enclosed. In-mold and post-mold operations compliment the
process to produce parts that save time and money in assembly of the final
product.
The rotational molding option offers economical tooling, short lead-time,
excellent finish quality, and little draft to name a few benefits.
